A great article on the Moocup in today's Guardian

Did you know that even Tampax advise to use a pad at least once a day, because of the risk of TSS, a potentialy fatal build up of bacteria? There are none of these risks with using a mooncup or cloth pads, even more important for teenage girls who are more at risk.
I for one will never go back to Tampons, and wouldn't want to as cloth pads and mooncups are so much better in so many ways, and I'll be encouraging my daughter (and my friends daughters!) when the time comes.
